The mere fact that she trots out that old “fair share” argument indicates to me that not only is she an idiot, she thinks we are idiots as well. Yes, the rich need to pay their fair share - does that include her husband? Nancy Pelosi and her insider trading deals? Daniel Goldman? Mark Warner? Funny that they never think of themselves as wealthy, or not paying their fair share. What exactly has she or Biden done for the middle class? What is she offering now, except pie-in-the-sky cash windfalls for minorities?

The phrase, “fair share,” is notable for its imprecision. What is a “fair share”? We are never told. One may well ask: Is it fair that the talented, the industrious, and the frugal should be made to pay for the depravities of the lazy, the shiftless, the addicted, the dysfunctional? Granted that Christian charity imposes obligations on those of us who have prospered, but is it the proper function of government to enforce such obligations? I think not. Enforced charity is tyranny, and it corrupts all that it touches.

Correction: National debt is $35.8 TRILLION. Cumulative obligations near $210 TRILLION.

Aside from that, thank you for writing this so I don't have to. The woman is a complete moron. My favorites from the exchange:

Cackles: “You and I both know what I’m talking about.”

Bret: “I actually don’t know what you’re talking about.”

============

Bret: "79% of people say the nation is on the wrong track. You’ve been in charge for 3.5 years, so what are you turning the page on? "

Cackles: "A bunch of Swamp Dwellers say Donald Trump is dangerous. Nanny nanny boo boo, stick your head in doo-doo. That is a fact. That is a FACT!"

Thanks for the correction. It was typo on my part; I did mean “trillion.”

I assumed so, but wanted clarity for some of our younger audience, less fluent in the ways of Swamp Profligacy….

Well, I corrected the article. Would that the national debt were a mere $35 billion!

Baier should have asked "Tell us why you should be president and don't mention Trump's name".

And Harris would have dodged and filibustered and mentioned Trump anyway—as she did with the questions he asked.
