According to Abbott testing has failed to show ANY cronobacter in ANY product including unopened containers from the homes of the w children who died. According to the inspection report 2 surface samples of cronobacter were found during the inspection, neither in areas that contacted product. Also, the cronobacter found was not the same one found in the children. The only identical cronobacter found was on the outside of a distilled water bottle.
Contamination found were found during a cleaning cycle. The other two items were people were observed not properly walking through a boot wash station and cracked metal not in contact with production. In other words, the deficiencies could have been fixed by cleaning, documentation of cleaning, and procedures to used on cracked metal until replaced. Do that tonight and send us a letter.
Why was the plant shut down? And why was the whole thing conducted with no sense of urgency.
Why did the Abbott Sturgis plant shut down?
