Wow... The Covenant School shooting was a tragedy. No bones about that. Audrey Hale's actions were disgusting, and I feel horible for the parents and loved ones. I hate that they did that. From a statistical standpoint, the likelyhood of being shot in a school shooting by a trans or non-binary person is an outlier combared to a cis white males. This is statistics. The rights reaction was to focus entirely on the the fact that this person was transgender. Is the gun control debate not valid? If it was harder for Audrey Hale to get the guns that they had, would that have not been a good thing? The gun laws in this country are a joke. It is beyond easy to get a gun. I just bought my first in March and it took me 4 days. My background check invloved me self reporting if I had any mental health issues or past arrests. It did not require a safety course. I bought a 9mm Springfield Hellcat (it's awesome by the way), but I just as easily could have turned around and bought AR-15 and walked out the door without any idea how to opperate such a weapon. This debate should about the shooter, AND gun control, but to sit there and say this is a result of this person being trans and make it seem like this is a trend and not an outlier is reporting malpractice at best.
Yeah, right. But as I noted, the debate, such as it was, was all about the travails of the so- called transgender community—the real victims in the telling of “trans activists” and the media. The actual victims were erased. And of course, violence, threats and intimidation are common tactics of the so-called trans community. A case in point: the violent assault on Riley Gaines, the (actual) female swimmer who’s a critic of (fake) females in women’s sports. At San Francisco State University, she was assailed by a screaming mob of trains activists, and was punched out by a man wearing a dress.
That's your view. I saw plenty of coverage mourning the loss of the lives that were lost. I saw plenty of coverage of the fact that gun control is needed, which I will point out the left promotes everytime there is a school shooting no matter who the shooter is. It is very much consistent and "on brand" for them to do so. How are they covering this different again? Your article addresses what you saw as a breach of journalistic integrity in this particular tragic inccident, which is what I addressed in my comment. Your response is one that is trying to distract and change the subject to something different, and what it shows me, is that you are not intersted in this topic. You have a braoder agenda against trans people. I see a bigot and call it out. Sorry not sorry.
Fact: The so-called trans community made the Nashville school shooting all about trans people, supposedly the real victims. As I’m sure you realize, I could cite countless examples to that effect. Also I could cite countless examples of threats, intimidation and violence directed by trans activists against people who oppose the zany ideology of gender. I certainly have an agenda against all that.
That is not a fact. That is an opinion. I am part of your "so called trans community". You are making are making it all about trans people. The conversation should be about supporting the families, and the school community. You just can't see past the fact that the person that did this horrible act was trans. The fact is that most of these tragic shootings (which are tragic no matter who is pulling the trigger) are commited by cis people. Calls for solutions (like gun control) are valid.
No, I'm making it all about the lunatic ideology of gender, which is this century's manifestation of the madness of crowds. Now, I have no particular objection to adult individuals who choose the trans lifestyle. But when we have teachers and administrators in public schools helping children to "transition" without their parents' knowledge or consent, that's despicable. What gives the "trans community" the right to meddle in the lives of other people's children? Tell me, where does that power come from? Similarly despicable are the biological males, posing as female athletes, who deprive actual female athletes of the rewards and recognition due to them. Where does that right come from? It would be laughable if it didn't blight so many lives.
The reason I noticed that the Nashville shooter was trans was because the "trans community" made such a business of it, e.g. the stupid handwringing about the "misgendering" of the shooter. Imagine, the wrong pronouns were applied to that monster! Incidentally, I was interested to note that though the shooter was a trans man, there were no denunciations of "toxic masculinity." Why was that, do you think?
As for gun control, I regret to inform you that mass murder cannot be prevented by laws either not enforced (as is the case with many current gun control laws) or unenforceable (as is the case with dumb proposals like high-capacity magazine bans). Laws are not magical incantations. In and of themselves, they do nothing. And alas, there are not enough cops and courts in the galaxy to enforce gun control laws so draconian as to eliminate gun crime. "Common-sense gun control" is an oxymoron.
