As a matter of fact, I’m writing a novel whose protagonist is a character created for the first story in “A Cold Day in August,” Detective Lucy Esposito. (She also appears in the book’s title story.) But Edward Boudoin? I don’t know…
Reason I asked is that you've packed a lot of detail about Boudoin, much more that I'd expect to see in a short story. It actually felt more like a 'treatment' for a longer work. I haven't read your other stories but plan to check them out as time permits.
Have you considered expanding your short story into a novel?

I enjoy your writing on historical events.
