The push for Israel to finish this war quickly would require carpet bombing and indiscriminate bombing which Israel does not do.

As I know from officers in the field, buildings are only bombed when there is a known terrorist threat coming from it. The real problem is that we call these "civilian installations" with terrorists in them. What they are in fact - are military installations with civilians in them. While not all of the doctors and nurses are terrorists, the heads of the hospital and much of the staff are Hamas operatives. and are literally covers for ammunition depots. Same with the UNRWA schools. Same with nearly all the buildings destroyed. As Israel's Defense Minister has stated - Gaza is the largest terrorist base in the world.

If the bombing was indiscriminate, the war would have been over weeks ago.

Did any MSM journalists say anything about Obama's massive drone-bombing campaign, that killed unknown numbers of non-combatants in collateral damage?

Let us be clear that drone attacks do not constitute “indiscriminate bombardment” or “carpet bombing.” And since, as you say, the numbers of “non-combatants” killed are “unknown”—what, exactly, is your point?

Only that the MSM -a largely left wing entity- is highly selective in its moral indignation. As for the accuracy typically claimed for "drone attacks", let us remember that they are first and foremost, bombs, and that they kill everyone in the blast radius.

But that's not "carpet bombing" or "indiscriminate bombardment." When terrorists like the goons of Hamas use civilians as human shields, civilians are going to get killed. And the responsibility for that rests with the terrorists.

Thank you so much for walking us through just ‘why’ this article is so problematic. Other than family veteran experiences, I’m very ignorant about the military, in general, and certainly, aerial bombardment in particular. I have a much better understanding. Also, because I’m a metalhead, I had to play Iron Maiden’s ’Aces High’ at an elevated volume 🤘

I’ve published a series of articles about the origins and evolution of strategic bombing. It’s a work in progress, but the five or six articles I’ve put up on Substack so far may interest you. Just go to the Un-Woke in Indiana home page and search for strategic bombing.

"You can lead a horse to the water..."

CNN's viewers are not known for intellectual curiosity.

In fact, a reasonable person might conclude that they are some of the most stubborn people in the country.

They seem to believe in the evil of Republicans, the vileness of Israel, and the virtue of the left.

These people look for confirmation bias and constitute the core of CNN's viewership.

CNN is merely pandering to what their viewers watch, knowing that without this core viewership, CNN's dismal ratings (less than 1/2 Fox's viewership) would be even worse.
