“In this fraudulent civilization where everything is fake and stupid, we are not accustomed to such sincerity.”

Brave Americans enlisted after 9/11. Pretty impressive.

"Aaron Bushnell’s suicide will be remembered, though not for long, as the sad waste of a life."

You've already been proven right. Of all the progressive glorification of this act of psychological terrorism, I haven't seen any of them mention that someone actually did this a couple months ago. No one knows his name; they don't even remember it. I don't know if he died, but he self-immolated on behalf of Gaza. I guess the progressives didn't see a good enough opportunity to grift over that one.

Suicide is considered "contagious". People on the edge emotionally will almost certainly feel inspired by Bushnell's act and by how happy and proud of him the left is. I think you will see more suicides to come.

Laura, that thought has occurred to me as well. May we both be wrong—but I fear we may be right.

I think some less sympathetic folks might say, "Good riddance!", because, honestly, most leftists are insufferable; but I was kind of a leftist until my eyes were opened by the endless lies about Kyle Rittenhouse. I'd like to think that some of them are salvageable.

That, as I said, was my first reaction: Good riddance. But as a faithful Catholic, I can't quite go there.

Agreed. I'm like you but I finally opened my eyes to the sickness of "wokeness" on October 8. I used to think they were misguided and a little clownish but at least had defensible, possibly good motives and were mostly harmless. No more. I will never assist or defend them ever again. Hopefully more will come to their senses, but at this point I think anyone who hasn't left that camp isn't going to.

Something tells me however that this guy's act will not inspire as many people to self-immolate, as it will to motivate the similarly deranged to commit violence in his name against innocents. That will be his real legacy. His final act didn't just destroy his own life, but likely is destined to injure and possibly destroy others. And he's a hero of the left. Insane.

Jeez, I think you might be right.

I hope I'm not, but the leftist mobs give me no reason for optimism.

Bushnell was a product of a wacko cult upbringing, and he sought cultish authoritarianism after he left his upbringing.

Johnstone’s contributions on Substack are some of the most egregious stuff I have found on the site. Without exception, when interacting with her followers, you are quickly shown the shallow inner workings of a very dim and angry cohort. Sadly she pilfers money from these imbeciles and hijacks them daily with rage porn to churn her conspiratorial brand. If we still had a functional mainstream media, her product would not sell nearly as well.

As the French proverb has it, a fool can always find a bigger fool to admire her.

Very well said. Thank you.

And, "In this fraudulent civilization where everything is fake and stupid ..." Don't you love it when these people unwittingly project?

People like Johnstone are so wrapped up in their conspiratorial fantasy life that they can’t grasp how crazy they sound to the rest of us.

And the rest, putatively not crazy, can't quite bring themselves to draw the obvious conclusions about the GenZ cult zombies and their causes, at least not publicly.

The words Johnstone writes sound remarkably similar to speeches made by Hitler and other Nazi thugs in the 1920’s and 1930’s.

Her obsession with ‘sincerity’ and ‘authenticity’ represent a classic fascist mentality.

That's a very good point!
