We should also not forget (1) ignorance on the part of people who have little or no knowledge of history; (2) irrationality on the part of people whose brains have been filled with mush through years without any substantive education; (3) lack of moral principle on the part of those who believe we are in essence nothing but higher animals and that there is no higher moral law in a universe based entirely on random chance.

Every once in awhile there comes a time of such pristine moral clarity that no person can deny. That was now. Even after all the bad committed by the global progressive Left - there was always some gray area - small as it often was. This time, there is none.

If we don't deal with this now - we never will.

Yes, ‘“anti-Zionism” is the intersection where Western progressives and radical Islamists meet’, but now that Trump’s mentor and patron Putin is allied with Iran and Hamas (see Alexander Vindman’s recent Substack post) the intersectionality illustrates the horseshoe effect.

Ironically, liberal Jews are discovering that their lefty allies don't really like them.

Wonder where liberal Jews go next.

And many Jews hated the 2nd Amendment, relying on the state to provide security.

October 7th showed the fallacy of relying on the state for protection.

Anecdotally, my local gun store (Colorado Springs) is seeing a lot of gun buyers with Jewish surnames.

We're seeing a spike in sales around here too, a more blue east coast state.

The state (meaning the IDF) in this case is the primary means of collective protection in Israel, although, of course, large numbers of individuals are armed as well. Being a collective arm of the state, however, means the health of the military arm depends on the political health of the state. The Israeli state was burdened down with ridiculous and gratuitous problems before the 10/7 attack. We can't forget that political state. Our enemies won't.
