Troll on a Roll
Somebody's huffing glue, and it's not me
Meet Guscat. He’s a troll. Just now he’s trolling me with comments like this:
Sleepy Tom, did you run away or something? If it makes you feel better, I can pretend like you upset me. I just love laughing at you so much, I don’t want you to run away.
Isn’t that clever? Isn’t it cute?
I attracted Guscat’s attention with a comment on the Hunter Biden trial, noting that the notorious laptop with its freight of salacious information has been introduced by the prosecution as evidence of Hunter’s cocaine addiction.
You may recall that the Hunter’s laptop was dismissed as “Russian disinformation” by a platoon of national security professionals back in 2020, when Hunter’s pop was running for president. Naturally, the Left jumped on board with said professionals, lauding them to the heavens. Gone are the days, it seems, when the comrades reviled the CIA & etc. as the focus of evil in the modern world! But the sequel was kind of embarrassing, because those national security pros turned out to be liars: Hunter Biden’s naughty laptop turned out to be the real deal.
Various Substack lefties didn’t like it when I mentioned the above facts. Of them, Guscat was the most obnoxious, especially when he got rolling. Here he is in full troll mode:
LOL, where do you see anyone on the left rending garments over Hunter facing gun charges, it’s you guys who suddenly want to get tough on guns.
Why don’t you take a deep breath or maybe just stop huffing glue and get back to me. Or maybe you are just suffering from dementia Sleepy Thomas…

Usually when it gets to this point I simply block the person and indeed, Guscat is slated to be shoved down the memory hole. But before I vaporize this small, tiny person, let it be noted that he’s a typical specimen of postmodern progressivism: mendacious, malicious, and willfully stupid. Those are the qualities one needs to believe that Joe Biden is the second coming of FDR, that Israel is a neo-Nazi apartheid state, that “whiteness” is a real thing, and that Dylan Mulvaney is an actual woman.
It's true that most people harbor beliefs that are false or beyond rational analysis. The achievement of postmodern progressivism is to have systemized the act of fooling oneself. The troll Guscat has compartmentalized his insanity. In most aspects of his life, he may function normally. Only when he’s ideologically triggered does the madness flare up.
A funny thing about this is that his mode of discourse reminds me of no one so much as—Donald J. Trump. Like the Prince of the Golden Escalator, Guscat is fond of adolescent insults and entry-level snark. Come to think of it, so many of the comrades are like that. Could it be that the real reason they hate Trump is that they hate themselves…?
Guscat enjoys his trolling.
As schoolboys we would put trolls into Coventry. Much easier to block them now.
There was election interference in 2020.
Not fraudulent voting (there probably was some fraud but I don't know how material).
The real interference were the 51 former intelligence people lying.
And the media wilfully compounding those lies.
In a just world, there would be consequences.
That is a very interesting theory. They certainly love hating Trump, and they certainly hate themselves. Perhaps there is a connection.
