Hard on the heels of the scandal of the century—insult comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s trashing of Puerto Rico at Trump’s Madison Square Garden campaign rally—President Joe Biden escaped from his minders and toddled out to opine that roughly half of the voting public consists of human garbage.
That would total some seventy million thoroughly deplorable Trump voters. By way of comparison, the population of Puerto Rico is a little over three million.
The White House scrambled to explain what Biden really meant: a sure sign that he meant exactly what he said. As for Kamala Harris, she affected to deplore the Big Guy’s nasty crack, though without mentioning the President by name. Well, what else could she do? But come on. We all know that she agrees with him, don’t we?
This is hilarious in two ways. First, it steps all over Harris’s latest line of attack: That Trump’s a Latino-hating racist. Second, it reminds everybody that when the comrades decry Donald Trump’s admittedly vulgar insults (though this time it didn’t actually come from Trump), it’s a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
For when it comes to vile invective, postmodern progressivism owns the brand. Just ask the Jews. Since October 7, 2023, a day hasn’t passed without denunciations of Jews as White oppressors, racists, and war criminals, and of Israel as a fascist, apartheid, genocidal, colonialist outlaw regime. Those are some heavy insults! And I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that somewhere along the line, one of those keffiyeh-wearing jerks has described the Jews as human garbage.
Nor do Democrats and progressives think much of their fellow Americans. Before Biden came along to put them out with the rest of the garbage, the same Americans he insulted were called “bitter clingers” by Barack Obama and “deplorables” by Hillary Clinton. But time marches on and today, besides being garbage human beings, they’re fascists, racists, homophobes, etc. and so forth. Wherever the deplorables gather, the comrades bombard them with vicious invective. When parents at school board meetings voiced objections to such things as Woke course content and transgender ideology in public schools, the comrades reviled them as “transphobes”—even “domestic terrorists”! And just the other day, Michelle Obama told us what she really thinks of men who aren’t willing to vote for Kamala Harris. We’re so full of “rage,” don’t you know?
This kind of crap is all over social media, including here on Substack. Which is fine with me: It fosters a target-right environment. Also, it reinforces my already robust sense of moral and intellectual superiority. Sure, I mock our stumblebum president and have a habit of referring to Kamala Harris as the Bratgirl—but that’s plain vanilla compared to the fulminations of leftie creeps like Ta-Nehisi Coates and the ladies of The View. And besides, by way of balance I sometimes refer to Donald Trump as the Prince of the Golden Escalator.
What I haven’t done is call Barack Obama, Joe Biden, or Kamala Harris a Bolshevik. (Bernie Sanders, though? Maybe!) But Democrats and progressives have made fascism the new f-word. Yes, they have a long history of calling Republicans and conservatives fascists. Even the genial and mild-mannered George W. Bush has that label slapped on him. It was always a bad habit but today it’s a toxic addiction that makes them sound like idiots, if not raving lunatics. Case in point: Naomi Wolf.
It’s true that Trump and his brand of populism are vulgar and have coarsened American politics. But how readily progressives snapped up the bait! Remember when Michelle Obama said that “When they go low, we go high”? Those days are dead and gone, as the former First Lady herself demonstrated with her jeremiad aimed at American men. The very worst characteristics of Right and Left have bubbled to the surface; coarseness and vulgarity are bipartisan vices now.
But at least Trump’s good for a laugh. To their variant of coarseness and vulgarity the comrades add nothing but a miasma of joylessness.
I am continuously amazed at the level of venom displayed by the lefties.
We are somewhat contemptuous of their beliefs, but they hate us.
More, they operate in a world devoid of analysis. Or better said their analysis is dominated by TDS.
We both follow one site moderated by a "conservative" intellectual. The level of venom towards Trump is shocking. As is the complete pass she gives to the Biden/Harris maladministration.
Only 13% of her readers "voted" for Trump. I wonder how many of her liberal readers pay money to subscribe to a truely conservative site.
Until the left does some critical thinking, our divide will only worsen.
It wasn’t just Hillary with her comment about deplorables and Barack disparaging gun slingers and religion clingers. It was also Mitt with his disdain for the useless 47 percent; the people he labeled as takers not makers. Both political parties have turned their backs on the working class; that is until Trump came along.
There’s also the fact that the tasteless comment about Puerto Rico was uttered by a second rate comedian while the ugly comment about Trump voters was uttered by the President of the United States and the titular head of the Democratic Party.
Think about the message that Michelle Obama recently delivered to encourage voters to support Harris. The Democrats sold out working class men in favor of their new favorite constituency, college educated women and their metrosexual male partners. Michelle’s message was clear to working class men who are suffering economically, financially, psychological and spiritually. Michelle essentially told those men that they’re obligated to celebrate their own demise delivered to them by the Uniparty and instead submit to and elevate the interests of women.
Batya Unger-Sargon said it perfectly on Twitter,
“This election is pitting the real, urgent problems of struggling, downwardly mobile working-class men against a fake problem—without late term abortions, millions of women will die—because the fake problem allows rich women to pretend they are oppressed.
Black men are among the top victims of Democrat policy—NAFTA, defunding vocational training, mass migration. It's an utter outrage to call them racist and sexist for saying no.”
Harris and the Democratic Party are profoundly evil. The traditional GOP is not far behind. Trump is fighting against all odds to champion the class that the Uniparty has abandoned. It’s amazing that he’s come as far as he has. But Harris could easily win; the Democrats might win honestly but if they will be perfectly willing to cheat if that’s what it takes.
Remember, when the peons show up at the palace with pitch forks, more often than not, they’re routed.
