Notes on the Way
Kayne strikes again, Walker stumbles, Biden blathers, DeSantis hits it out of the park, Wokeness takes a judicial hit
Last night during his interview with Tucker Carlson, Kayne West mentioned that in New York City, more black babies are aborted than are born alive. Can this really be true? I’d like to think not. But after all, we live in a country whose largest state is being turned into a giant abortion mill by its progressive Democratic governor. So I guess anything along those barbaric lines is possible.
Speaking of abortion, Herschel Walker has suffered a late hit—possibly deserved. But is anybody surprised? The guy’s a train wreck of a candidate with a past that makes Donald Trump look like St. Francis of Assisi. It’s a shame that the Georgia GOP picked him to contend for one of the most winnable senatorial races this year. But what are we to make of the Democrats and progressives who are denouncing him? Since when have they had a problem with a black guy who paid for his girlfriend’s abortion? What’s next? Concealed carry permits for transgender preteens?
Our inimitable Commander-in-Chief has done it again! As if we weren’t frightened enough already, last night he blurted out a comment to the effect that America stands on the threshold of atomic Armageddon. That’s just the thing we all need to hear heading into the weekend! Biden’s off-the-cuff remark implied that if V. Putin detonates a nuke in Ukraine, the United States will respond in kind. Oh, really? I do happen to think that such a move by Putin would bring the US and NATO into direct conflict with Russia—but fortunately we have plenty of non-nuclear military options that the Russian despot would find painful in the extreme. For instance, we could jam all his TV networks with a looped selection of Kamala Harris speeches and remarks.
Down in Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis played nice with President Biden, who for once managed to get through the day without making an utter fool of himself. Observers noted, however, that the Governor and the President merely shook hands—no career-crippling bro hug for Ron! Naturally the media did its best to put DeSantis in his place, e.g. Newsweek with a ridiculous story to the effect that Biden made his host look bad by mentioning climate change. Supposedly the Governor “shuffled awkwardly” as Biden made the climate crisis worse with even more hot air. Put that rag in for a Pulitzer! Kidding aside, it’s been good to see such effective leadership and hands-on management by DeSantis during the Hurricane Ian disaster. The Governor’s impressive display of competence has only reinforced my opinion that he’s a political force to be reckoned with.
And here’s an interesting tidbit: To date, fourteen federal judges have signed on to the Yale Law School boycott. Citing concerns over Yale’s disregard for free speech, they vow never to hire its graduates as law clerks. The boycott was launched last week by Judge James C. Ho of the Fifth Circuit. In his speech at a Kentucky Federalist Society conference titled “Agreeing to Disagree—Restoring America by Resisting Cancel Culture,” he named Yale Law as “one particular law school where cancellations and disruptions seem to occur with special frequency.” Then came the bombshell: “Starting today, I will no longer hire law clerks from Yale Law School. And I hope that other judges will join me as well.” And so they have, notifying the snowflakes that wages of Wokeness is unemployment.
Hershel Walker is an imperfect human like all of us. Right now I see these revelations that have come forth as the proverbial "October Surprise". The alligations may or may not be true. Most important to remember: Hershel has matured in his walk with Christ. I do not doubt that he is now pro life. We all are entitled to change our belief structure as we strive to be better Christians. As for his Senatorial candidacy, he comes across as authentic, not unlike Sen. Kennedy from Louisiana.
And we don't want to overlook his opponent Mr. Warnock who had a documented tiff with his wife and drove over her foot and then the accusations of child abuse against him at a childcare center he was involved in.
If I were a Georgia citizen I would vote for Walker. His overall value set as a Christian and what I perceive as his sincerity of purpose to do good for Georgia makes him the better candidate. Warnock's positions go against my beliefs. Hershel deserves all the help he can get in the next few days.
