"Globalize the Intifada"
When the antisemites of the Left raise that cry, think January 1, 2025: NOLA
On New Year’s Day, 2025, two things happened. Early in the morning, an Islamic terrorist drove a pickup truck through a crowd of revelers on New Orleans’s Bourbon Street, killing fourteen people and injuring many more. His vehicle was flying the flag of ISIS. Later in the day, in New York City’s Times Square an antisemitic mob, many wearing keffiyehs and face masks, gathered in support of “Palestine.” Among their hateful chants: “Zionism is cancer” and “There is only one solution—intifada revolution.”
If you’ve ever wondered what such phrases as intifada revolution and Globalize the intifada mean—now you know. It means dead bodies on one, ten, many city streets in America.
The person—I won’t name him—who carried out the NOLA terrorist attack was an American citizen, born in this country, and a US Army veteran. It’s been reported that he was raised as a Christian but later converted to Islam. How and over what period of time he became radicalized remains unclear, but an FBI spokesman has said that he was “one hundred percent” inspired by ISIS.
No doubt this monster of evil will be praised as a hero by those Times Square protesters, who also chanted, “We will honor all our martyrs.”
Their protest, coming hard on the heels of the NOLA terrorist strike, was a blatant expression of hatred and contempt— not just of Israel and the Jews, but also of America and its people. That’s what the “anti-Zionist” Left thinks of the country whose freedoms they abuse in their campaign of genocide. Yes, even the vilest of the vile are covered by the First Amendment’s free speech and assembly guarantees, and I for one wouldn’t have it any other way.
But these garbage human beings are edging over a dangerous line. We should assume that they’re not just cosplaying when they dress up in their keffiyehs and call for global intifada. They mean what they say: Israel is to be wiped from the map; the Jews of Israel are to be killed or driven into exile. And the rest of the world is to be intimidated and terrorized into subservience.
Unfortunately, the government of the United States and its agencies charged with domestic security have no stomach for the fight against Islamofascist terrorism. Their response to the NOLA terror strike was characteristically limp-wristed. Right out of the box, an official representing the local FBI field office opined that it wasn’t a terrorist attack—this immediately after the local Superintendent of Police said that it was a terrorist attack. And in Washington, nothing was heard from the President or anybody else for hours. When Joe Biden finally did emerge from hiding, he mumbled his way through a brief statement with the hollow clang of boilerplate, declined to take questions from reporters, and shuffled off the stage.
By the time the President made his appearance, it should not have been difficult to call the NOLA outrage by its proper name: an ISIS-inspired terrorist attack, complete with ISIS flag. Besides, it wasn’t as if the killer had employed some novel, unheard-of method. Using a vehicle to mow people down has become all too common a terrorist tactic. It has happened before, in multiple countries—most recently in Magdeburg, Germany, on December 20. Five people were killed and over two hundred were injured when an immigrant from Saudi Arabia, resident in Germany since 2006, drove through a crowd of Christmas shoppers.
The national security implications of the NOLA terrorist attack are disturbing. On the “anti-Zionist” Left, rhetorical support for terrorism is open and blatant. Worse, there are people in its ranks ready and willing to commit acts of violence—as has been seen on the streets of our cities and university campuses. Then there was the cold-blooded assassination of Brian Thompson, CEO of a health insurance company, which was either viewed with approval or met with excuses by many progressives. In the runup to the 2024 presidential election, there were two attempts to assassinate Donald Trump, one of which came within millimeters of blowing his head off. And of course, the circumstances of the New Year’s Day car bombing in Las Vegas give good reason to think that it was politically motivated.
This has the feel of a crisis and it’s peaking at a dangerous moment, with an impending transfer of power in Washington, DC. The incumbent president, Joe Biden, will not be missed. It’s all too obvious that he’s incapable of doing the job and indeed, that he was allowed to remain in office after his decrepitude became obvious last summer is a scandal. But the president-elect is of course Donald Trump—a man of mercurial temperament and uncertain judgement.
Taking the situation all in all, the next few months are likely to bear out the truth of that ancient Chinese curse: May you live in interesting times.
Liberals demand that we regard all cultures as equal.
BS - Islam is far inferior to our western culture.
Look at the (apparent) Pakistani grooming gangs in England; the massacre of dogs in Turkey; the 10/7 pogrom; the Islamic treatment of women.
I could go on, but Islam is not the equal of our western culture.
People have the right to choose. But Muslims do not have the right to impose their values on us.
And we should recognize that many Muslims embrace war against the west.
But I am optimistic that many Americans (with the exception of lefties) are starting to realize the truth.
The Intersectional Left has lost its moral compass. As for the Islamic killer in NO. He was not radical as much as he was true to the Islamic written word that is fundamental, supremacist, intolerant and violent. Islamism. It would take an Islamic Martin Luther to change what is fundamental to Islam. The West seems incapable of seeing this fact. You only have to read about Mohammed's massacre of the Banu Qurayza Jews in 627 in the Quran to know nothing has changed. The Banu Qurayza had been in Medina for hundreds of years before Mohammed. They wanted a peaceful resolution with the new Arab warlord. Mohammed instead put all the Banu Qurayza men to death, and took the women as slaves. Fundamentally nothing in the "way of life" of Mohammedans has changed since. It is fundamental. Sad.
